Common questions

How do I highlight text?

Choose Text highlight, then drag across a word or sentence. The selected text is highlighted when you release. You can also select text with your keyboard and choose Highlight selection. Use Undo to remove the last mark.

What about scanned pages or text inside images?

Choose Highlight brush and drag over the area you want to mark. Adjust the brush size and color in the toolbar. This tool does not recognize text with OCR, so scanned content requires the brush unless the PDF already has a text layer.

Are highlights saved when I download?

Yes. Download PDF creates a copy containing all your highlights across every page. The marks are permanent page graphics in that copy, rather than editable comments. Original text remains selectable where the source PDF supports it. Reopening a downloaded copy will not restore its marks to the Undo history.

Are my files uploaded or saved?

No. Viewing and highlighting happen in your browser. Download your work before closing or refreshing the page, or opening another file. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before opening them here. Interactive forms, links, and existing comment controls are not editable in this viewer.
